PR-AMCs are generally more affordable than CFR-AMCs because the reinforcement is less expensive. This provides customers with the opportunity to improve their products performance even with price sensitive applications.
PR-AMCs offer significant improvements in stiffness, strength, wear resistance, structural efficiency, reliability and control of physical properties such as density and coefficient of thermal expansion compared with unreinforced metals. These mechanical properties, coupled with the relatively low cost of reinforcements, and their characteristic isotropic properties, make PR-AMCs an affordable alternative to CFR-AMCs.
